About

I received the Ph.D. degree in Electrical Engineering from Koc UniversityIstanbul in 2006. During my Ph.D. work, I developed multiple objective optimization models for content adaptive online streaming of low bitrate (below entertainment-quality) videos over best effort networks. In 2006, I joined the System Architecture and Networking Research (SAN) group at TU/e as a postdoctoral researcher. For a period of two years my research was mainly on enhancing the Quality of Service for streamed multimedia in Next Generation Networks (NGN) and IP Multimedia Subsystem (IMS).

Since 2008, I am an assistant professor of Computer Science at the System Architecture and Networking (SAN) group of Eindhoven University of Technology. My main research interests are life-cycle management for resource-constrained embedded devices, architecture development for smart spaces and Internet of Things, as well as resource and QoS management and data analytics for networked services.

Since 2013, I am the research program manager for the Bright Environments research program of TU/e Intelligent Lighting Institute. Check out my article titled "Lighting Control and Interaction for the Future" in the ILI 2014 Magazine.
