Latest information on this elective topic on (mathematical) modeling and engineering. In small groups student can work on selected projects under guidance of a problem owner and a project supervisor. Registration two weeks before start of the quartile (Q2, Q3 or Q4).
Introduction to Modeling
Latest information on this basic course [0LEB0] on (mathematical) modeling and engineering. (link points to old site) This course was taught for the first time in the academic year 2012/2013, by Kees van Overveld et al. Kees van Overveld died December 16, 2014. the work is continued by Tijn Borghuis and Emiel van Berkum. Nowadays information is available mostly on OnCourse.
Introduction to Design
Latest information on this basic course on design of complex systems. (link may have changed as the course has been thoroughly revised). This course was taught for the first time in the academic year 2013/2014, by Kees Goossens et al. The mathematics department organized and supervised several projects meant for students in the mathematics major. Groups were coached by Hurkens, van Eijndhoven and Leonova.

Besides learning elementary programming skills and application thereof in a modeling context, professional skills as collaboration and information gathering are trained.

The courses 'Modelleren B' and 'Modelleren C' were taught for the last time in the academic year 2012/2013 to the second year mathematics students.

The course 'Modelleren B' is also taken by second or third year student doing a double bachelor in Mathematics and Computer Science, as well as by third year students doing a mathematics minor, in the old bachelor programme. For these students the course - with project work - is scheduled for the last time in the academic year 2013-2014.
