abstract: 

We present a couple of simple classical and quantum models of heat conduction, suitable for rigorous analysis and rich enough to reproduce some of the basic phenomenology. From these, we explain some open problems in nonequilibrium statistical mechanics.
 
14:15-16:00 speaker: Reda-Jürg Messikh title: The Wulff Crystal near Criticality

abstract: 

In this talk, I have two objectives:
First, I will review the techniques that permitted the analysis of phase coexistence in dimensions greater or equal to three.
The second goal is to show how this approach has been used to study the Wulff shape of the two dimensional Ising model, in a regime where the temperature approaches the critical point (this part has been done during my PhD, under the direction of Raphael Cerf).
