11:15-13:00

speaker: Erwin Bolthausen (Zürich)

title: On the ultrametricity problem in spin glass theory

abstract:

Ultrametricity is perhaps the main open problem in mean-field spin glasses. We given an overview about the problem, and report on some of the attempts to understand it, partly by analyzing toy models.

14:15-16:00

speaker: Yvan Velenik (Genève)

title: Statistical Physics of stretched polymers

abstract:

I'll return, in more detail, to the description of properties of stretched polymers already discussed in Lecture #1.
I'll then discuss some related questions, in particular:
(i) the order of the phase transition in the selfattractive case, and
(ii) applications to (non-directed) polymers in quenched random environment.

This is based on joint works with D. Ioffe..

Additional material: Find here the slides of Velenik's first lecture on Feb 5.
